Proposal for a Centenary Year Allotment Competition in 2019

To mark the centenary of the Oxford & District Federation of Allotment Associations it is proposed to hold a competition in 2019. Details below:

Each Allotment Association will take responsibility for asking their members for entries and then the committee will for select the best 2 plots in each category. The Association, as a minimum, must enter one plot in at least 3 of the categories.

Age classes of: under than 35 years, 35 to 64 years, 65 to 75 years and older than 75 years.

In addition there will be a class for small plots of 2.5 poles and less.

It is proposed that the association winning the site competition, in addition the Alderman Knight Shield, should receive prize money of £300, with a runner up prize of £100.

For the 5 categories for plots there will be a winner and runner-up with prizes of £50 and £30 respectively. The overall winner of the competition, in addition the Challenge Trophy, will receive £100.

Highly Commended certificates will be awarded to runners up in the Challenge Trophy section.

The judging criteria for both the site and plot sections will be reviewed by the committee and circulated to associations with the entry forms.

Judging will take place during the 2nd week of June and 2nd week in September.
